YCL in-charge KC released

KATHMANDU, April 13: Police released Kul Bahadur KC, a politburo member of the Unified CPN (Maoist)  and his bodyguard Mahabir Rana, who were arrested with the UN-stamped weapon, on Tuesday afternoon.



They were released after UNMIN identified Rana as a verified combatant and the pistol as the weapon approved to be used for security of KC, also the in-charge of the Youth Communist League (YCL) – a sister wing of Maoist.[break]



They were released in the presence of UNMIN representative.



They were arrested on Monday night during the regular security check at Chabahil.



Earlier, YCL has issued a release demanding immediate release of KC and Rana or face the nation-wide protest.
