They have taken up the task of constructing the road that links Ramjadeurali and Arthar Dandakharka VDC with the money collected in the fund of the local women´s group and the VDC fund.[break]
The local women´s group had collected the money in the women´s fund through organization of cultural programmes like dances.
People of Ramjadeurali, Thanti, Saunepani, Dandagupte, Ranpu and Arthar Dandakharka will be benefited after the construction of the road.
The women´s group is spending Rs. 250,000 from its fund for the construction of the road while Ramjadeurali VDC has also contributed Rs. 500,000 from the VDC fund.
Meanwhile, the community forest users´ groups in the district have lent a helping hand in the campaign to reduce the risk faced by rural women at the time of pregnancy and delivery.
In this connection, the forest users´ committees have started a campaign by constituting the Safe Motherhood Sub-groups with the objective of reducing the child and maternal mortality rate through prevention of risk to the life of the mothers and their newborns.
Under this campaign, the community forest users´ committees contribute Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 3,000 in the sub-group´s fund that is then provided to the needy woman member of the community forest users´ group.
In this way, the pregnant woman member of the forest users´ committee can borrow the money from the sub-group´s fund at the time of need.
So far, more than 350 women of 38 community forest user´s committees have benefited from this campaign.
