Wild tusker kills couple in Chitwan

RATNANAGAR, Chitwan, Dec 16: A couple had lost their lives after they were attacked by an elephant at Madi in south Chitwan on Saturday late night.



Buddhiram Bote, 65 and his fifty-five-year-old wife Jiriya Bote of Gardi VDC-9, Draupadinagar of Madi died in an attack of rampaging tusker while they were asleep at own house, confirmed Madi Police. [break]



Buddhiram died on the spot and his wife breathed her last on the way to Bharatpur Hospital after the elephant that entered the home at midnight attacked the ageing couple, said the police.



The elephant had also destroyed paddy and grains stored at the home, police further informed.



It may be noted that two people had lost their lives in Madi last month in an attack of elephant.
