Mercury dipped in the capital Kathmandu on Wednesday owing to the rain that took place the western parts of the country excluding Nepalgunj on Tuesday, meteorologist Rajendra Prasad Shrestha said. [break]
Dhangadhi witnessed the highest rainfall of 2.4 millimeters on Tuesday while there was scanty rain in Pokhara and Bhairahawa, he added.
With the prevalence of westerly wind, there is high chance of cold wave and fog in Terai belt, however the weather in mountainous belt in the east will remain clear, Shrestha forecasted.
He further told that rain will again take place in western belt within a few days.
Today´s minimum temperature in Kathmandu was recorded to be 3.6 degree while maximum stood at 19.8, according to Department of Hydrology and Meteorology Weather Forecast Division.
