“I have repeatedly said as prime minister, I m ready to take up any role and make any sacrifice for that,” Bhattarai said addressing the 18th Metropolitan Day in the capital. [break]
The PM said only new elections could put an end to the country’s prolonged transition and serve as an outlet for current imbroglio. He reiterated the government call for a successful holding of new polls in May.
Likewise, Bhattarai said the local bodies are functioning without elected representatives for over a decade now due to the country’s transitional phase. He, however, said his government has been seriously monitoring incidents of funds misappropriation at local bodies in recent times.
