Wage committee chairman resigns

KATHMANDU, April 22: Chairman of Minimum Wage Determination Committee Mahendra Bista Friday tendered his resignation effective from Monday.



Organising a press meet at the Ministry of Information and Communication, he said that he resigned from his post seven months before the expiry of his tenure.



On the occasion, he made public Working Journalists’ Media Study Report 2067.



The report says that 45 percent of journalists are still working without appointment letters, 37 percent are not even getting minimum salary and 36 percent of media houses don’t have leave facility.
