Victims object to bouncing cheques

KATHMANDU, Aug. 16: Victims have objected to the bouncing of good for payment cheques by the General Finance Limited.



At a press meet organized jointly by nine victims including Raju Bhakta Joshi, Jitan Khanal, Tek Prasad Bhandari and Dolma Lama here Thursday, the victims complained that "Bouncing the good for payment cheques is not allowed but the finance company has been doing it".



They said that they also informed the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), the regulating body of finance companies, about it, but the NRB did not monitor the finance company.



The victims said that their cheques of more that Rs. 20 million were bounced by the finance company. They urged the NRB to watch financial activities of the finance companies and to make arrangement for the payment of their bounced cheques.
