According to the Area Police Office, Mirchaiya, the deceased has been identified as Mithilesh Kumar Dev, 26, of Phulkaha village, India.[break]
He had been running a shop at the locality.
He died on the spot after being hit by the speeding van (Na 1 Ja 2539) while he was on the way to his room from the shop, police informed.
Police have detained the driver and impounded the van.
