“We are hopeful that Dr Bhattarai and his team will vigorously pursue the priority goals -- the completion of the peace process and the promulgation of a new constitution,” said the US embassy in a statement. [break]
The embassy also said that US is looking forward to working with the new government to create the environment of growth and achievement in the sector of economy.
Similarly, a Japanese Embassy statement said, “Japan sincerely wishes that the Nepal´s peace process will make a breakthrough under the strong leadership of newly-elected Prime Minister Dr Bhattarai through the spirit of compromise and understanding."
Both the US and Japan have expressed their commitment to assisting Nepal to maintain and strengthen the co-operative relations.
