Inspector Nirmal Thapa, of District Police Office, assumes an involvement of a person known to the duo in the killing. "The neighbors have seen few men, who looked like they belong to Chepang community, coming to visit the women frequently, someone from them might have been involved in the murder," informed Thapa.
According to a local, Prakash Thapa, Laxmi was often seen with new men from past few days. The neighbors suspect the incident was a result of her involvement with those men.
"The dead bodies have bruises all over indicating that they have been brutally beaten up before being strangled with a shawl," said Inspector Thapa.
Ganga´s husband Gyan Bahadur Thapa has been working in Nivuvataar and being staying away from the family from past twenty-five years for the employment purpose.
Laxmi who is also married had been staying with her mother in Kalikataar. Her husband is currently residing in Itahari for the employment purpose.
Police is further investigating the case.
