Speaking at a press conference organized in Itahari, Gajurel said there would be fresh protests if political parties failed to settle their differences in constitution writing and that would propel the Maoists to government leadership once again. [break]
“The fresh movement will once again give Maoists a chance to lead the government. The parties can´t blame Maoists if they fail to promulgate the new constitution even after completion of the army integration,” he said.
Stating that there are minimal chances of promulgating new constitution, Gajurel said, “If top leaders fail to gather consensus on thorny issues within a couple of days, there won´t be new constitution.”
Gajurel, who is close to party establishment, said that parties have not been able to reach consensus as leaders of Nepali Congress and CPN-UML don´t have the courage to take bold decisions.
He even claimed that the dissident faction within his party, led by Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya, would also fall in line with the party establishment very soon.
“The Maoist party will stand united while launching the protest,” he said, adding, “Baidya is an informed leader but there is an extremist group inside Baidya faction.” He added that the Maoist party will become strong if the group leaves the party.
