UML instructs cadres to join hands in Bagmati cleaning campaign

KATHMANDU, April 8: CPN-UML has instructed its cadres to participate in 'The Clean Bagmati Mega Campaign' scheduled on its 100th week of the event on Saturday.

Issuing a press statement on Wednesday, the party chairman KP Sharma Oli has also requested supporters, well-wishers and general public to participate in the mega event.


"I request all the party leaders, cadres, members, well-wishers and residents of the capital city to join this holy campaign," said Oli in his statement."We extend our best wishes and thanks to all the participants who made the event a success till now," The organizers have planned to create human chains on either side of the banks of Bagmati River along the 28-kilometer stretch all the way from Sundarijal to Chovar.

People from various walks of life have been cleaning the Bagmati River for the last 99 weeks as a part of their campaign to turn the river into a clean waterway.
