Those missing after the boat-capsize are 20-year-old Laxmi Balami and 40-year-old Krishna Balami of Chitlang VDC-7. Four others who fell into the lake in the accident were rescued with the joint efforts of locals and the police.[break]
The boat capsized as it was heading towards Markhu from the Kulekhani dam. Additional security personnel have been mobilized for searching for the two missing people, police inspector Ram Bahadur KC said.
The boat that capsized was operated in the run up to and in preparation for the Kulekhani-Daman-Palung Festival.
The District Development Committee, Makawanpur and the Makawanpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry have unveiled a plan to operate motorboat, speedboats and boats in the Indra Sarovar dam in view of the Tourism Year-2011.
