Two killed in warehouse fire

KATHMANDU, April 6: Two Indian nationals were killed in a massive fire at a lumber warehouse at Imadol in Lalitpur on Tuesday morning. Charred bodies of the two were found in the debris only after the fire was doused.



The fire reportedly started at the warehouse owned by one Rabindra Sharma at Imadol VDC-8 at around 2:00 am. The victims Ajay Sharma, 24, and Ameet Kumar Sharma, 15, from India, were sleeping in the warehouse at the time and they were unable to escape the blaze while another worker, who was sleeping with them managed to flee.



Fire brigades from Bhaktapur and Kathmandu took more than two hours to douse the fire. According to Lalitpur police, the damage by the fire has been reported to be worth over Rs 1 million.
