KATHMANDU, Jan 6: A fire has broken out at a timber warehouse in Gairigaun, Sinamangal, Kathmandu.
The fire, which started on Tuesday afternoon, is being brought under control by teams from Nepal Police, the Armed Police Force, and Nepali Army personnel. Several fire brigades are also on the scene to extinguish the fire.

According to the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Police, fire engines were immediately dispatched after thick smoke was spotted in the area.
Spokesperson of the Kathmandu District Police Office and Superintendent of Police (SP) Pawan Kumar Bhattarai said preliminary assessments suggest the fire may have originated from a nearby house and spread to the timber and furniture warehouse.
Efforts to control the fire are underway.
