Two killed after house wall caves in due to incessant rain

KAVRE, Aug 21: A couple has been killed after the wall of a house in Tukuchanala-8 of Kavre caved in last night, following continuous overnight rainfall.

The deceased are Laxmi KC,41, and his wife Geeta KC,35, according to the District Police Office, Kavre. Their nine-year-old son Bijaya KC and relative 12-year-old Dinesh Karki were injured in the incident. They are undergoing treatment at the Scheer Memorial Hospital in Banepa.The house was built using stones and mud following the earthquake and it caved in as a result of the heavy rainfall, according to DSP Raj Kumar KC.

Meanwhile, in ward nos. 5 to 7 in the same VDC, the local administration has been shifting around a dozen families to safer locations considering the risk of landslide.

Landslide has also obstructed the road leading to Thuloparsale from Tamaghat. RSS
