Two held for daylight looting

KATHMANDU, Nov 27: Metropolitan Police Sector, Swayambhu arrested a man and a woman for robbing Sanjay Lama of Hetauda Municipality-2 of Makawanpur under the pretext of exchanging US dollars Tuesday. The two had robbed Lama of US dollars worth Rs 114,000.



Police said the two arrested are Tilak Magar, 32 of Hariharpur-4 of Udaypur and a resident of Sitapaila; and Kusum Rai, 24 of Bhedetar-5 of Sunsari. Police said the two had promised to exchange Lama´s dollars and when Lama took out the money the two snatched it and fled.[break]



The incident happened near the Clean Energy Development Bank at Sitapaila. The two were arrested soon after Lama informed the local police.



Police said they sealed the area and arrested the two within 10 minutes on the basis of information given by Lama.
