Though the university has already set the deadline to submit the exam forms for bachelor first level and masters´ first level, the officials doubt that the exams would be held before Dashain. [break]
According to the Exam Controller Chiranjivi Sharma, the exams might be scheduled post Dashain as three student unions are conducting their general conventions in September.
“If you look at the trend, the university does not time the exam schedules overlapping with student union conventions,” said Sharma. The student leaders also urge the TU varsity to postpone the exams so that more students could participate in their conventions, he added.
Sharma mentioned that the office is yet to decide on issuing the exam schedule. The deadline for submitting exam forms ends on Sunday. However, the exam controller´s office is extending the deadline by one week for the students who have yet to submit exam forms.
Nepali Congress affiliated to Nepal Student Union is scheduled to hold its 11th general convention from September 14 to 16. The UCPN (Maoist) affiliated All Nepal National Independent Student Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R) and the CPN-UML affiliated All Nepal National Free Student Union (ANNFSU) have also announced their national convention dates.
The last time TU exams were rescheduled was in 2010, when ANNISU-R leaders pressured the TU to postpone the ongoing exams of bachelor second year in 2010.
