Transport entrepreneurs operate vehicles defying banda

BARDIYA, Sept 22: Krishnasar Transport Entrepreneurs Association (KTEA) has started operating public vehicles defying the banda after 42 days on Monday.

The committee has decided to operate the vehicles in association with the local administration saying that over 2000 staffers associated with transport and their dependents have been hit hard.


"The band enforcers did not lift the strike despite repeated requests", said KTEA Chairman Shambhu Rijal.

The vehicular movement had remained off the road except for three days in 42 days. The transport entrepreneurs have upped in arms over the indefinite banda called by Tharuwan/Tharuhat Joint Struggle Committee and Madhesi Front.

The agitators who have long been hitting the streets over delineation of the federal provinces and against the new constitution.

The KTEA has started operating vehicles plying along long and short routes.
