Trade export declines

KATHMANDU, Feb. 20: Export of trade from the country was decreasing daily owing political instability, power shortage, and lack of necessary infrastructure development.



According to the Ministry of Commerce and Supply, the export trade was fallen to 61 billion in this fiscal year from Rs. 68 billion last fiscal year.[break]



The export trade condition will even decline when the government does not bring necessary programs with priority for the promotion of the export trade, said the businessmen involved on export trade.



The participants of the 14th general assembly of Nepal Export Council today in the Capital urged the government to provide subsidized loan from banks and revise certificate of origin to promote export trade in the nation.



They also urged to form Department of Export to solve the problems appeared in export sector that has been playing vital role for the development of financial development.



The business entrepreneurs demanded to make the provision to take certificate of origin optional as it helps to promote export trade.



The government makes it compulsory to take the certificate at present.



Secretary at Ministry of Commerce and Supply Purushottam Ojha said the ministry has been bringing new packages to increase export trade and urged the entrepreneurs to assist government program.
