TLF leader shuns Dahal's program

NEPALGUNJ, March 31: Tharu Liberation Front in-charge Haribhakta Kandel has boycotted an orientation program organized by the party establishment at Chisapani, Banke.



However, Dev Gurung from the radical faction of the party attended the program.[break]



Deputy in-charge of the front IP Kharel also boycotted the program. Kandel was reportedly in the district.



Talking to Republica, Kandel said that he knew about the program. “I could not attend as I am suffering from common cold,” he said.



The Maoist party had organized the orientation program to inform local leaders about the party´s official line.



According to sources, the radical faction had planned to boycott the program, but they participated as Gurung attended the program.



Sources claimed Gurung arrived in Chisapani to attend the program at the eleventh hour after the establishment faction warned him of dismissal from the post of party chief whip.



Talking to media persons, Dahal said that the new constitution guaranteeing identity-based federalism would be promulgated by May 27.



Asked if the political parties have been preparing to promulgate the new constitution pending the issue of federalism, Dahal added, “The new constitution will be promulgated only after finalizing the issue of federalism.”
