RAUTHAT, Nov 8: The presence of three former prime ministers in the course of their electoral campaigns has suddenly charged up the electorates in Rautahat district.

While addressing their respective electoral rallies held at different parts of the district, the three former PMs -- UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal and UCPN (Maoist) leader Babu Ram Bhattarai -- have claimed that their party would emerge victorious in the coming November polls. UCPN (Maoist) leaders Dahal and Bhattarai addressed the function at Chandranigahpur, while UML leader Nepal went to address the campaign at constituency number 1 of the district, from where he is contesting the poll.

Speaking at Chandranigahpur, Rauthat on Friday, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Dahal said that his party needs majority to ensure federalism and the new constitution. "The last Constituent Assembly (CA) failed to draft the constitution as our party was not in the majority," said Dahal.

He sought to portray Nepali Congress and UML as regressive parties. He claimed that the two were not serious about the concerns of Dalit, indigenous, and other marginalized groups.
