“Some want to dissolve the Constituent Assembly while others have been demanding a fresh election. We should be wary of them,” Khanal said while addressing CPN-UML´s mass gathering in Tulsipur on Friday. [break]
The prime minister said the Constituent Assembly term should be extended unconditionally.
The prime minister also directed the security agencies to take tough action against those who would try to create anarchy in their bid to foil efforts to extend CA term.
However, party Secretary Shankar Pokharel said the Constituent Assembly term should not be extended until there is a credible basis for completion of the constitution writing and peace process.
Speaking at the gathering, another CPN-UML Secretary Yubaraj Gyawali said there is no alternative to extending the term of the Constituent Assembly.
During his speech, the prime minister had asked the participants to clap if they are for CA term extension. But none of the participants responded. Only a small number of participants clapped when he made a fourth request.
The prime minister claimed that the works on constitution writing and peace process are in the final stage and it would only take some more time to complete the tasks.
