Inaugurating a party office here in the district, Thapa said the 12-point agreement inked between the then Seven Party Alliance (SPA) and the Maoist party back in 2006 does not hold significance, any longer.[break]
“The relevance of the old 12-point pact has been expired now,” Thapa said, adding, “Striking a new 12-point agreement has been the need of the hour.” He also reiterated that the parties should explore ways to consensus through round-table discussion.
Thapa criticized the incumbent Baburam Bhattarai-led government’s announcement of new elections for November 22 and described the move as a mere ‘drama’.
He further said the proposed Constituent Assembly elections by this government has met the same fate as the municipal elections held during former king Gynendra Shah’s direct rule did.
