Seventh grader Kalpana BK was injured when teacher Indra Prasad Bhusal tortured her. She is being treated in Mustang district Hospital in Jomsom. Due to shortage of air ticket, she could not be flown to Pokhara for further treatment. The hospital said her treatment is not possible in Jomsom as she has her backbone fractured.
Witnesses said the teacher tortured four girls including BK for going out of school during class time. After punishing the girls with physical restraint by asking then to stand in a posture of a chick for 10 minutes, he punched a blow on BK´s back, according to student Pranisha Thakali.
Locals have taken initiatives under the mediation of local Mukhiyas to make Bhusal pay for the girl´s treatment. Bhusal claimed he had not punished the girl with bad intentions.
In a similar case in Syangja, a girl has got her hand fractured after a teacher beat her up at a private school here. Fourth Grader Kabita Bhandari at The Excellent English Boarding School in Waling was thrashed by her teacher Pratima Bhattarai.
The teacher thrashed Kabita after she returned late to the class after taking her younger brother to toilet. The victim said the teacher thrashes students daily for one or the other reason.
