The wife of local resident Ranjit Pandit, who was being rushed to the District Hospital for delivery, died on the way, local resident Jitendra Kumar Mandal said.He said that Pandit's wife started experiencing labour at around 11 pm last night and that they could not find any ambulance due to the overnight curfew. He added that private vehicles refused to ferry the patient to the hospital due to the curfew, leading to the death.
Locals said that with no option in hand, they transported the patient on a bullock cart, but to no avail. RSS
