Tan new Singapore envoy to Nepal

KATHMANDU, May 15: Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) of Singapore has appointed Karen Tan as Singapore´s new ambassador to Nepal.



According to a Singapore-based news portal, Tan has served in the foreign service since 1985, and is currently the high commissioner to the Republic of India and ambassador to the Kingdom of Bhutan.



The www.asiaone.com quoting the Singapore MoFA said Tan will present her credentials to the President Dr Ram Baran Yadav on Monday.



She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (History) (Honors) from the University of London, United Kingdom. She also has a Master of Science in European Studies (with distinction) from the University of London, London School of Economics and Political Science, United Kingdom.
