Talks on cross-border link in Jan

KATHMANDU, Jan 5: The stakeholders´ meeting on Dhalkebar-Muzaffarpur Cross-Border Transmission Line Project will be held in New Delhi on January 18, according to the Ministry of Energy (MoE).



The MoE, Nepal Electricity Authority, India´s IL&FS, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, Power Trade Corporation of India and others will participate in the meeting.



The meeting will be joined by World Bank, which has proposed a regional package to support the project. A similar stakeholders´ meeting was held in Kathmandu in November, during which the parties had agreed on an action plan to complete the project within three years timeframe.



The government has already received a positive response from the World Bank for funding sub-station at Dhalkebar and Butwal-Dhalkebar-Duhabi line and other associated infrastructure.
