SPORTS BRIEFS: Thapa inaugurates bowling centre

KATHMANDU, May 6: ANFA President Ganesh Thapa inaugurated a bowling centre in the capital on Friday. The City Bowling is open for bowling enthusiasts at the City Centre, Kamalpokhari.



The newly built facility has four lanes and uses the latest scoring system. Basanta Ligal, proprietor of City Entertainment that owns the bowling centre, said they are planning to conduct a bowling league. [break]He said the centre will provide discount to bowling players.



School level badminton in mid-May


KATHMANDU: First Saint Lawrence Valley-wide School Level Badminton Tournament is all set to be held from May 15-20 in the capital. A statement released by the organizer Saint Lawrence College on Friday states that the tournament will include competition in seven categories -- senior boys, senior girls, junior boys, junior girls, principal, teachers (gents) and teachers (ladies). All the matches will be held at the covered hall of the Dasharath Stadium.
