SPORTS BRIEFS: Rain washes T20 tournament

KATHMANDU, March 9: Due to the unexpected rainfall in Kathmandu on Wednesday, the matches of Spice Classic T20 Inter College Cricket Tournament were abandoned.



The first match was only played till the seventh over when the rainfall began. [break]Lord Buddha Education Foundation had won the toss against Triton College and scored 22 runs losing four wickets before the match was called off. Sudin Shrestha and Arpan Kafle both were not out at six runs. Rupesh Shrivastav took three wickets for Lord Buddha. Both teams shared a point each due to the rain. Nepal Engineering College and St Lawrence College also shared a point each as the match between them too had to be called off.



Marwadi cricket from next month


KATHMANDU: Teranpath Youth Council will conduct Third Inter-Marwadi Cricket Tournament from April 9-16 at the TU cricket ground, Lab School and Modern Indian School. This is the third edition of the tournament where only the people from Marwadi community can play. It is being held on the occasion of the 2610th birthday of Lord Mahabir Swami.
