Orchid defeated Shiksha Deep College by 34 runs while Maryland College beat Star Higher Secondary by 73 runs to enter the quarterfinals of the competition.

Likewise, COBAS defeated Marts Higher secondary 2-1 during the football competition of the sports week. In the other football matches of the day, Manakamana Academy beat Shiksha Deep 2-0 while Koshi College thrashed Sungava College 1-0.
Akhil Cup football
KATHMANDU, Dec 23: Nobel College, Nepal National and Shankar Dev Campus won their respective matches on Wednesday in the ongoing Akhil Cup Inter-college Football Tournament being held at Chyasal ground, Lalitpur.
Nobel College defeated SAAN International College 4-3 in tiebreaker after the regular and added time ended in a 1-1 draw. Likewise, Nepal National registered a 1-0 win over Little Angels´. Dev Chandra Thapa scored the decider in the 61st minute.
In the other match of the day, Shankar Dev outplayed Tri-Chandra College 1-0. Bikash Sapkota scored the winner for the team in the 10th minute.
Judo team off to Bhopal
KATHMANDU, Dec 23: A 10-member judo team left for Bhopal, India, on Wednesday to prepare for the 11th South Asian Games (SAG). The team includes seven judokas and three officials.
In the men´s category, Parshuram Chaudhary (60 kg), Ramesh Magar (66 kg), Deepak Shrestha (73 kg), Kaluman Tamang (90 kg) and Rajan Joshi (above 100 kg) are in the team while in the women´s category, Radha Devi Rai (52 kg) and Debu Thapa (63 kg) are representing Nepal. Dal Bahadur Gurung and Surya Narayan Shrestha are the coaches and Dharma Pakchai is the team manager.

The training will be held at the Sports Authority of India´s training hall, Bhopal, from December 25 to January 25. According to Nepal Judo Association President Deepak Harsha Bajracharya, the Nepali team will practice along with the Indian national judo team selected for the SAG.
