Tusal, Bhairabkunda enter semis
KATHMANDU: Tusal Youth Club A and Bhairabkunda Youth Club entered the semifinals of the Tatopani Third Sherpa Lhosar Cup Football Tournament on Monday. A goal each from Lakpa Sherpa, Nuru Sherpa and Chempal Sherpa guided Tusal to a 3-1 victory over Dolakha Sherpa Youth Club. Babu Tamang scored the consolation goal for Dolakha. In another quarterfinal, Bhairabkunda thrashed the host Sherpa Youth Club 4-0. Dhiraj Tamang scored a brace for Bhairabkunda while Sang Dorje Sherpa and Pasang Sherpa scored a goal each.
NCC, Shankar Dev to vie for title
KATHMANDU: Nepal Commerce Campus (NCC) and Shankar Dev Campus will lock horns in the final of the Madan Bhandari Cup Valley-wide Inter-college Men´s Volleyball Tournament. In the semifinal match played on Monday, NCC overcame Public Youth Campus 25-18, 26-24, 25-23 while Shankar Dev defeated Baneshwar Campus 25-23, 25-18, 25-17.
Amar routs Cambridge 14-0
KATHMANDU: Amar English School and host Loyalty B reached the quarterfinals of the Fourth Valley-wide Inter-school Junior Boys´ Knockout Football Tournament on Monday. Rajiv Dangol scored nine goals as Amar thrashed Cambridge 14-0. Kabir Lawat completed a hat trick and Saugat Shrestha and Shakti Gauchan added a goal each for Amar. In another match, Kami Sherpa scored the lone goal to guide Loyalty B to a 1-0 win over Edify English School.
Khumaltar comes on top
KATHMANDU: Khumaltar Yuva Club climbed atop the points table with a thumping 8-0 win over UNBC Club of Ghorai, Dang on Monday in the Red Bull C Division National Football League under way at the Nepal Police Training Academy, Maharajgunj. Khumaltar undefeated in four matches has 10 points, one point ahead of Samaj Kalyan Khelkud Parisad which has a match advantage over former. UNBC without a single point lies at the bottom of the table.
Suraj Raut completed a hat-trick for UNBC while Niresh Dulal netted a brace. Similarly, Srawan Jhap, Sajan Thapa and Khagendra Pun also netted one apiece in the 34th, 44th and 81st minute respectively.
In another match, Satdobato Youth Academy toiled hard to beat Bard Football Club 4-3. Dhiraj Tamang netted twice for Satdobato while Suraj Gurung and Jyoti Khadka scored one apiece. Devraj Tamang netted a brace for Bard and Binod Tamang scored another.
After playing four matches, Satdobato is in fourth spot with four points while Bard has three points.
