BIRATNAGAR: Sponsors for the teams participating in the Marwari Cricket League were announced on Monday in Biratnagar by Marwari Yuva Manch. According to the president of organizer Surendra Golcha, Annapurna Garmet will sponsor Dhulabari.
Arihant Group will support Biratnagar-1, Rathi Group to Biratnagar-2, Sagun Ply to Janakpur, RMC Cement to Birgunj-1, Baba Group to Birgunj-2, Bagmati Group to Bhairahawa, Jagadamba Cement to Dhangadhi, Maruti Cement to Kathmandu-1, Century Masala to Kathmandu-2, Lord Buddha Education Foundation to Kathmandu-3 and Magic Shoe to Kathmandu-4 has been fixed.
Top 12 teams are divided into four groups and the top four will compete in the super league to be held in Kathmandu.
B division matches called off
KATHMANDU: A sudden change in weather disrupted the Red Bull B Division National Football League under way at Budhibikash ground, Lagankhel. The first match of the day played between Birgunj Youth Academy and Chyasal Youth Club was called off after the interval by All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) citing technical reasons.
Birgunj was leading the match 2-0 until the completion of the first half. The second half of the match will be played on Wednesday. Krishna Shakya had opened the scoring for Birgunj in the 26th minute and Chaturdhan Chaudhary had doubled the tally in the stoppage time of the first half.
Meanwhile, the second match scheduled to be held between leader Sankata Club and Shree Laligurans Pulchowk Sports Club has also been rescheduled for Wednesday. Birgunj Vs Chyasal match will be played at 14:00 and Sankata Vs Pulchowk at 15:00 at the same venue Wednesday.
Shah elected NSTA president
KATHMANDU: Nepal Soft Tennis Association (NSTA) unanimously elected Binay Bikram Shah as its president on Monday. The third general assembly also elected a 20-member standing committee. Binod Kayastha, Bikash Pandey, Sashi Chandra Rai, Arjun Kumar Mainali and Krishna Deuja have been elected as vice-presidents. Devendra Bharati retained his post of general secretary.
Roshan Singh and Sanjay Nepal have been elected as secretary and treasurer respectively.
