Canada, Scotland and Netherland are in third, fourth and fifth positions respectively. Nepal was in 14th position in the rankings table in 2010. Namibia and Afghanistan are below Nepal in ninth and 10th positions.
The rankings are allocated on the basis of team performance in senior, junior and women´s categories, states a press release issued by the Cricket Association of Nepal.
Similarly, infrastructural development, ability of umpires, scorers, coaches and employees are the other criteria.
Twin wins for Kamal Thapa
KATHMANDU: Veteran tennis player Kamal Thapa enjoyed double victories in the All India Senior Tennis Tournament being held in New Delhi, India. He achieved victories in U-55 singles and doubles and advanced into the quarterfinals.
Singles defending champion, Thapa beat SAN Raju of Andra Pradesh in straight sets 6-1, 6-1. In doubles, Thapa partnered with Ram Babu of India and beat Mukesh Patel and Suresh Bajaj´s pair in straight sets 6-2, 6-1. The quarterfinal of both the categories will be held on Wednesday. Thapa is the chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal.
