SPORTS BRIEFS: ACC U-16 tournament rescheduled

KATHMANDU, March 4: Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has revised the tournament schedule of the ACC U-16 Elite Cup to be held in Kathmandu from March 8 to 16.



ACC revised the schedule following the pullout of the UAE and Qatar teams. Earlier, the tournament was scheduled for March 8-18. [break]



In the revised schedule Nepal will take on Hong Kong in the first match on March 8 in group ´B´ of the tournament. Kuwait and Bahrain are the other two teams in the group while Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Saudi Arabia are slated in group ´A´.



A 14-member Nepali squad has been selected for the tournament on Wednesday. Swichan Shah will lead the Nepali side.







BDM corporate cricket in April



KATHMANDU, March 4: The second edition of BDM Six A Side Corporate Cricket Tournament will be held in the Tribhuvan University Ground, Kirtipur from April 1 to 5.



The matches will be played in league-cum-knockout format and will see the participation of well-known corporate houses from Nepal and India.



Suresh Khatri, coordinator of the tournament, said the winners, runners-up, best batsman, bowler, wicket-keeper, fielder will receive awards.
