KATHMANDU: Nobel Academy registered twin wins in the Olympia Cup First Inter-school Basketball Tournament on Wednesday. Nobel beat Campion Academy 44-32 with 12 points from Diwas Shrestha in the boys´ category, while Eva Malla´s 14 points guided Nobel to a 41-8 win over Little Angels´ in the girls´ category. In the other matches of the boys´ section, Sudesha overcame Vidya Dayani 24-11 and Little Angels´ beat host Olympia 39-17. In the senior girls´ section, Bagmati defeated host Olympia 19-11 as Preksha Malla netted 12 points, while Bridge Water thrashed Vidya Dayani 46-8. In the junior category, Neric saw off Vidya Dayani 17-10 as Ajay Basnet scored 11 points.
Barahi, Rai into final
KATHMANDU: Sunil Barahi and Milan Rai on Wednesday entered the final of the Valleywide Baneshwar Badminton Running Championship in the men´s singles category. Barahi beat Santosh Moktan 21-19, 21-14 while Rai overcame Ramesh Dangol 22-20, 21-17. In the men´s doubles, the pair of Ujjwal Dahal and Srijan Tamrakar set up a title clash with Anil Thamsuhang and Santosh Moktan after both the pairs won their respective matches.
