“The arrangement has been made to prevent any unpleasant incident, violence and gang fights. We aim that no woman and tourist are molested before and during holi,” said SSP Ravi Raj Shrestha, joint police commissioner at MPCO.

An additional 250 police personnel will be deployed in the valley during the festival. “Police will be deployed at various check points in the valley. Similarly, there will be foot patrols, motorcycle patrols and plainclothes policemen,” according to SSP Shrestha.

The MPCO has also decided to take strict action against those riding motorcycles with wearing helmets, three persons riding a motorcycle and drink driving. Similarly, the MPCO will take efforts to seize balloons entering the valley.

In the meantime, the police in all three districts in the valley will go about town with loudspeakers on Saturday to make people aware about playing holi in safe manner.
