KATHMANDU, Sept 22: The two-day conference on 'Advancing Women's Entrepreneurship in South Asia' concluded in Kathmandu.
According to Pramila Acharya Rijal, president of South Asian Women Development Forum, the conference has decided to develop a regional project through a public private partnership model with focus on promoting women enterprises through establishment of green industrial parks in each country in the region.

Rijal, who is also an advocate for a SAARC convention on Women Entrepreneurship and South Asian Women Entrepreneurship Symposium, said the conference also discussed on capacity building through women-led organizations, marketing linkages for strengthening trade activities, and advocating for women entrepreneurship during five sessions.
The conference has also decided to form a Regional Convention on Women Entrepreneurship as one of the goals of SAARC is gender equality and Empowerment of Women.
"It is important to form a SAARC Convention on Promoting Women Entrepreneurship," she said. "Likewise, South Asian Women Entrepreneurship Symposium will work as a marketing platform for women entrepreneurs to market their products in the SAARC region."
As many as 40 women business leaders from South Asia as well as Myanmar participated in the conference which aimed to bring women of South Asia together with a focus on developing institutional linkages to share experiences, identify best practices, and work toward issue-based collaboration.
