Myrepublica.com talked with Low on the performance of Sony products and its market in Nepal.
Excerpts:
Myrepublica.com: How has the market of Nepal been over the years for Sony?
Spencer Low: The Nepali market has been one of the most normal markets for us. Needless to say, there have been ups and downs in the process of taking market for our products here. Even then, we have been able to establish a very good market of TV and music players here. Sony´s Cyber-Shot is also doing very well.
The Nepali market is responding positively with the products of Sony. The path here has been better than expected.
Myrepublica.com: What are the opportunities that you see in the market here for the new products?
Low: Nepal has a very good youth population. There is also a trend of them trying to be different and independent then their older generation. This creates a very good opportunity for our products.

Myrepublica.com: What are the challenges you have faced here?
Low: There are no such difficult challenges that we have faced here. We have faced normal problems like we or any other company face everywhere. There is nothing to be specific about. Due to the price of our products, it is a bit difficult. But we are catching up.
Myrepublica.com: What are the future plans that you have for the market of Nepal?
Low: Sony is soon launching new series of Bravia in Nepal. We also have other plans after the launch of new series of Bravia. Sony is looking forward to bringing new products in Nepal and being able to meet the expectations of the young population here.
