Smugglers kill forest guard

BIRGUNJ, Dec 19: A forest guard was killed by timber smugglers in the forest near the Baleri Range Post of Rautahat district Friday night. Ramlal Sah died on the spot when a group of smugglers opened fire at the patrol team. The forest office has said the smugglers may have come from Sarlahi district.



Forest guards and officials have shut down the East-West Highway at Chandranigahapur by placing Sah´s body on the road in protest.
