Small parties urge end to deadlock

KATHMANDU, Aug 21: Various small political parties in the parliament on Saturday urged the big three parties to end the deadlock at the earliest.



In a meeting held with the leaders of UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress and CPN-UML at CA building at New Baneshwar, the small parties called for either withdrawing candidacies of both NC and Maoist candidates or or agree to elect one of them to the post of prime minister.



According to Prem Bahadur Singh, President of Socialist Democratic People´s Party, the small parties asked the big three to either agree electing one of the two candidates in the race or withdraw candidacies after forging agreement on peace process, constitution drafting and leadership and modality of new government.
