KATHMANDU, March 12: The small parties have rejected the four major parties--UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and United Democratic Madhesi Party-- proposal to form an interim government under the sitting chief justice (CJ) in the all party meeting held at New Baneshwor on Tuesday.
The small parties suggested that a prime ministerial candidate should be picked from within the political parties rather opt for the CJ.[break]
"The small parties flayed the decision of the major parties to form a chief justice led government," Dr Prakash Chandra Lohani of Rastriya Janashakti party said after the meeting.
Four-party meet inconclusive
The meeting of the four major political parties remained inconclusive Tuesday as the leaders failed to settle their differences over rank determination for the ex PLA and issues surrounding the setting up of a truth and reconciliation commission.
It is said that efforts will be made to resolve the outstanding issues during another four-party meeting on Wednesday. An all-party meeting is currently underway at the army integration Special Committee secretariat in New Baneshwor. The leaders of the major parties are apprising the fringe parties on the outcomes of the earlier meeting.
