KATHMANDU, March 18: The Nepali Congress (NC) has issued a whip to party lawmakers to not make any foreign trips until May 27 when the Constituent Assembly (CA) tenure expires.

“NC lawmakers are hereby directed not to make foreign trips until May 27 because the CA may need to convene its meeting any time in the days to come,” said an urgent notice issued by NC Chief Whip Laxman Ghimire on Sunday.

After being widely criticized for planning a trip to Switzerland, a group of 16 influential leaders from UCPN (Maoist), NC, CPN-UML and Madhes-based parties cancelled the trip last week.
