Short supply of rabies vaccine in Myagdi

MYAGDI, Jan 10: Service recipient have been affected due to shortage of anti-rabies vaccine in Myagdi District Hospital.



The service recipients are forced to pay high rate to get the service from private health organizations in the district. Those,who could not afford high cost, are also forced to go to Baglung and Pokhara to take the service that is to be taken immediately when the animals like dog and jackal bites them. [break]



Three persons, who were injured when a leopard attacked them, at Beni few days ago, had to visit a private health centre to take the rabies vaccine. Two among the injured in the incident, have been taking the vaccine from Beni Hospital and Research Centre.



“The government has not sent the vaccine. The hospital has to manage it mobilizing its own source,” said Chief of the hospital Dr. Lal Bahadur Malla.



He said the hospital has been making necessary efforts to manage such emergency services with the authorities concerned.
