Sharma warns parents against not sending wards to school

SARLAHI, Dec 15: Parents who do not send their children to school will be deprived of all facilities provided by the government, said Education Minister Dina Nath Sharma.



Stating that the government is all set to launch “compulsory education program” making it mandatory for everyone to study up to grade 8, Sharma said the government will strip the parents of all state facilities if they deprive their children from primary education.[break]



Speaking at a function in Mahotari on Saturday, Minister Sharma said that the government has come up with such a plan to increase literacy. He urged people to cooperate with the government to make the campaign a success.



He further informed that government is going to introduce a scheme to make everyone able to read and write by introducing a new provision of social education, in which 10+2 graduates will contribute to teaching the illiterate people.



The new provision will be measured in 5 marks and student getting higher marks in the social education title will be prioritized for the scholarship.
