In a press briefing organized in the capital, Sharma said that he is currently involved only with Anamol Catering Service - a catering business at New Baneshwore - and is not involved with Anamol Sweets, which is now owned by Niranjan Bansal. [break]
"I was offered 25 percent share in Anamol Sweets but I have no direct and indirect involvement with the company for the last five years due to my poor health," Sharma said.
Sharma´s lawyer Jaylal Bhandari said the Appellate Court has clearly mentioned not to take any action against Sharma.
"Even the DAO and the police have not sought any clarification from Sharma regarding the case so far," Bhandari said adding the news covered by various media houses linking Sharma with substandard sweets made by Anamol Sweets is baseless.
A DAO team that comprised of representatives from Nepal Bureau of Standard and Metrology (NBSM), Department of Food Technology and Quality Control (DFTQC) and consumer rights organizations had raided different outlets and production units of Anamol Sweets a couple of weeks ago responding to complaints against the use of low-quality ghee in the sweets.

In a raid, the team had found 10 tins (11kg per tin) of sub-standard vegetable ghee and 100 packets of spices in the Anamol Sweets production unit and showroom in Bhatbhateni.
Kathmandu District Police Range (KDPR) had filed a case under the Black Marketeering Act 1974 against the Anamol management as they were found to be cheating the consumer by selling ghee products having a nominal content of pure ghee.
Sharma who is 87 years old was arrested in Kalimati from his residence two weeks ago and is now admitted to Norvic Hospital in Thapathali on health grounds.
