BHAKTAPUR, May 28: The Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur has beefed up security in the district from early morning on Saturday in a bid to prevent any untoward incidents from taking place in view of the expiry of the deadline of the Constituent Assembly (CA) at 2400 hours tonight.

Similarly, security personnel have also been mobilized at the major cross-roads in the local town.

Superintendent of Police Rajendra Shrestha said security checks and frisking of people has been intensified to prevent the infiltration of people with malevolent intention in the protest demonstrations that various parties and organizations will be holding in front of the Constituent Assembly building at Naya Baneshwar on Saturday.

Meanwhile, very few vehicles are plying on the roads in Bhaktapur this morning mainly because of the rumours of a general strike and out of fear that incidents of violence might take place since today being May 28 when the deadline of the CA expires.
