Schools in Mahottari shut down due to cold waves

BARDIBAS, Dec 25: All the schools up to secondary level in Mahottari district have been shut down from today due to dipping temperature.



All schools based in the district have been closed for a week when students one after another complained of health problem caused by cold with the fall on temperature, said the District Education Office.



The school closure came under the directive of Chief District Officer Madhusudan Burlakoti at a time when the temperature saw a sharp fall with thick fog coupled with cold breeze in the area.



The number of schools in the district is 450, said Education Office.



As many as eight people have so far lost their lives in Mahottari due to cold since mid-December this year, confirmed the District Police Office.
