KATHMANDU, July 30: The Supreme Court has asked the government and the President's Office to furnish written clarification over the presidential pardon given to former president of the FNCCI Pradeep Jung Pandey.
A single bench of Justice Govinda Kumar Upadhyaya on Thursday also ordered the court administration to give priority to the petition challenging the government's decision to pardon Pandey.

Advocates Roshan Kumar Jha, Suresh Mahato and Prabhu Chandra Jha had filed the petition on Wednesday arguing that the move of pardoning Pandey is against the criteria set by the government on presidential pardon as Pandey was punished in a corruption case.
President Ram Baran Yadav, on the recommendation of the government, on Monday had pardoned the remaining fine and jail term awarded to Pandey, along with some other individuals. Pandey was arrested from his residence in Baluwatar on March 17, 2015 on the charge of evading 30-year-old jail sentence.
