On Wednesday, the single bench of Chief Justice Ram Prasad Shrestha had issued a landmark judicial stricture ordering government agencies to immediately investigate and take action against two former commissioners of the anti-graft body on charges of misuse of power.

The SC had concluded that then acting chief of CIAA Lalit Bahadur Limbu and then commissioner Ved Prakash Sivakoti misinterpreted a court order, exceeded their jurisdiction, abused power and allowed individuals to register in their own names state-owned land located behind the Maternity Hospital at Thapathali, Kathmandu.

"We have dispatched copies of the stricture and documents related to misuse of the state land to parliament, the state affairs committee of parliament and the CIAA as per the ruling," informed Hemanta Rawal, assistant spokesperson at the SC.
